被调查者的资源

A 被调查者 被报道为可能构成不当性行为的肇事者. 受访者可以是学生、雇员、大学附属机构或访客. 

A 见证 has firsthand knowledge of an event or circumstance. Investigators do not interview character witnesses. 

• 顾问: 信访人提出的 and 受访者 have the right to an Advisor who may be, 但不是必须的, 一位律师. An advisor attends the hearing and assists their party. Their role and limitations are outlined in the Policy. 
• 案例管理器: 案件管理员向当事人提供有关支持和辩护服务的信息, and schedules appoint男人ts with Investigators and the 第九条协调员. 
• 调查人员是中立的: Investigators are committed to providing a prompt, fair, and unbiased review. Investigations are focused on the information available.

Interviewing the 发牢骚的人 and 被调查者: After the 发牢骚的人 has chosen to proceed, they are interviewed. 然后，被告被告知指控，并给予充分和公平的机会作出回应和接受采访. 双方都被要求提供任何证据，并确定要采访的证人. 

采访证人: The Investigators reach out to request interviews with 见证es. 他们不需要参加, but doing so helps the university respond effectively to the complaint. The Investigators ask 见证es to provide any relevant evidence. 这次采访没有录音. 

调查报告: 调查人员将在调查报告中包括他们的采访记录, along with relevant evidence that was provided. Investigators include what is relevant to the allegations. The 发牢骚的人 and 被调查者 will see this report.

听力: The Investigators will invite all parties, including 见证es, to the Hearing. 见证es are not required to attend but are strongly encouraged to do so. They may be asked to clarify details from their interview. They do not stay for the entire Hearing. 听证会有记录. 

隐私: To the extent provided under applicable law, ODU will make reasonable efforts to ensure preservation of privacy, restricting the sharing of information to those with a legitimate need to know. 在此过程中收集的信息可能会在刑事或民事诉讼中被传唤.
